Innovated Insulated Soffit, Cavity, Floor and Composite Panel Manufacturing Initiative

Project overview

This early-stage project will allow Arctic Installations (Arctic) to introduce an advanced Polyisocyanurate (PIR) Insulation process to produce high-performance, energy-efficient insulation boards in the Northern Territory (NT), known as the ‘Soffit Board’.

The primary project objective is to conduct rigorous research and development (R&D) to optimise product quality and performance to produce an unparalleled product for the Australian market. The product optimisation process will enable Arctic to design and establish a new manufacturing line utilising chemistry to develop a specialised blend of chemicals, such as polyol, isocyanate, and pentane, with various other additives. This line will have the capability to experiment with formulas using up to ten different chemicals for future innovation.

On completion, this project will result in a new locally manufactured high-performance Soffit Board being introduced to the market, training and workforce development of local employees, attainment of CodeMark accreditation (an NCC requirement), and a significant enhancement to the NT’s advanced manufacturing capabilities.
