Our Projects
Adoption of innovative laser cleaning processes for environmentally friendly material recovery, reprocessing and remanufacture opportunities

Project description and overview:
Wurrba will introduce the Northern Territory’s (NT) first Laser Cleaning service by adopting innovative laser cleaning processes for environmentally friendly material recovery, reprocessing and remanufacturing opportunities.
Wurrba has identified a gap in the market and determined that no method in the NT removes rust, paints, and other contaminants from a surface that is safe for the user and considered environmentally friendly.
Due to its non-abrasive, non-contact, and thermally neutral approach, laser cleaning is a superior method of industrial cleaning. It is suitable for a wide range of materials and geometries and addresses complex cleaning challenges that conventional methods struggle with, such as selective coating removal, decontaminating sensitive surfaces, and precision cleaning of intricate parts. As industries continue to prioritise sustainability and quality, laser cleaning is poised to become an indispensable technology in advanced manufacturing and maintenance processes.
Wurrba will also utilise the application and use of the product in remediation works post flooding and natural disasters to remove mold and dirt from flood-affected buildings in remote communities, clean-ups of spills with NT Emergency services, swimming pool filtration maintenance and lead paint removal from aged Government buildings.
